A prototype for a local coop action game for 2 players, with asymmetrical controls: mouse(&keyboard) and gamepad!
We were making this game for Microsoft Imagine Cup 2018. We weren't selected, but carried on anyways. Then I took the difficult decision to end the project, as members of the team had to face personal and professional matters.
Our goal was to create an intimate experience for two, focused on emotions through interaction: a gameplay centered around the acts of care.
Another goal was to appeal to diverse player types: asymmetry in the players' controls and roles allows our experience to be inclusive.
WHAT I LEARNT:
I learnt about camera programming, particles and FX, and gameplay programming as a whole.
I learnt about managing plannings and deadlines, juggling between development and candidacy.
I learnt to let go. I will carry these intentions further on with a future project.
